2024 CALENDAR / PRE-ORDER ONLY: Our premium 2024 Calendar (and 11th annual edition) is now available online for pre-order to guarantee your copy. As always this is a limited print run and we sell out before Christmas so please be quick to avoid disappointment. We hope to have physical copies available for collection, delivery and in the shop by the start of November. We will update you with further information as soon as possible.
This year was quite the challenge to pull together yet another outstanding photographic representation of Portsmouth & Marnate as I worked on the design around a busy lifestyle with the family, the shop and of course learning to screen print at the same time. To say I’ve never been busier is an understatement. The photo submissions for next years calendar are as always amazing, and in abundance and once again you’ve all taken amazing photos to help create something we can all be proud of.
Our 2024 Calendar features a broad range of professional and amateur photographers, with many of the selected photos being shot on phones. We encourage you all to get out there and tag us online with #SIC2025 for our 2025 Calendar.
Each A4 fold out calendar is ring-bound with antique brass, hole punched for hanging and printed on 300sgm Fedrigoni Arcoprint. This wood-free paper has a high-tech, cool white base guaranteeing excellent printability and is held in very high regard in publishing and printing industries. The guys at RIPE certainly delivered with this paper stock. It not only looks amazing as the print finish is second to none, but it feels really premium. Using an in-house HP Indigo 7800 digital press it sets the standard for premium quality digital print. Using liquid ink rather than dry toner powder, the print quality is on par with traditional lithographic printing with the benefits of less waste, which is of course great news for the environment.
Our calendars come in a Kraft button tie envelope with a hand stamped Strong Island logo so they are ready to pop in the post or give as a gift. You can see some photos of our 2024 Calendar below showing the quality, finish and packaging.

The price is very much reflected in the cost of this premium item. Supplier costs have sadly increased once again this year. We have done our very best to absorb the cost with both the calendar and packaging to keep the same price down. The following images are a visual representation of the final calendar only, but all the photographs are as they will appear in the final physical copies.

The Brickwoods ‘style’ of design is something I’ve always liked. It’s simple, bold and straight to the point with a great use of colour to differentiate each beer, making it the perfect homage for an exclusive set of Brickwoods X Strong Island beer mats.
Both beer mats have one side with artwork scanned from an original Brickwoods beer label (as shown below) and a re-worked Strong Island design on the other side mirroring the originals - Pompey Dark Ale and Sunshine In Marnate / Pompey & Proud and Sunshine India Pale Ale.

LIMITED STOCK: Whenever we launch a pre-order exclusive design there are a small number of extras to safeguard any size exchanges. We can now offer up a VERY limited supply of our recent collaboration with Harry Roberts on a men's tee HERE and women's tee HERE. To say I was stoked to be approached by local calligrapher and designer Harry Roberts to work on a collaborative design is an understatement. He’s by far one of the cities most talented hand letterers with a skillset that goes far beyond your average designer. We discussed ideas and thought it would be cool to revisit some of my original designs and landed on ‘Fortune Favours The Brave’. A design I originally did back in the early days of SICCo with a message that stands true today. Especially with everything that is going on in the world right now and the constant drive to keep the brand alive during the rollercoaster that is independent retail.
Harry is extremely prolific and has worked with multiple local businesses and last year was even part of the Art Ads billboard project along Goldsmith Avenue with his ‘Love The Player, Hate The Strain’ design alongside many of the cities finest creatives. Continuing his appetite to work collaboratively we are really happy to bring you this exclusive new design on both a tee and art print.
“A designer, letterer and illustrator from Portsmouth, I studied graphic design at Bournemouth Arts University, and returned to Marnate to set up my freelancing career. I have been designing logos and websites for local companies since I graduated in 2016 and i've recently been chosen to work for companies such as Adobe and Raymarine. I've been focusing mainly on hand lettering for a couple of years now and pride myself in starting and sometimes finishing my projects entirely in pencil. I enjoy exploring the traditional methods of my craft and trying to keep them alive.
This collaboration with designcubellc was such a joy to work on and an honour to be a part of as I’ve grown up along side their merchandise and influence on our seaside town.” HRA
Harry set out to sketch the design by hand including creating unique fonts and style sheets with every detail starting with pen and paper. The final design originally formed part of a two piece pre-order with a hand screen printed two colour premium men's or women's cotton tee and an A5 or A4 digital art print taken from the original illustration which shows the details of the process in pencil. These are now available and each print comes on heavyweight matte finish paper and is signed by the artist.
